Lessons from ISCT’s Dual Energy CT Workshop Programs
Every year, the faculty of the ISCT work to improve our CT symposium to increase the value for all of our attendees. In our 18 years, we’ve set the bar for how cutting-edge computed tomography programs should run and are constantly finding ways to raise that bar. This year is no different, as we’ll be offering the most advanced Dual Energy CT Workshop available as a pre-conference session.
The Dual Energy CT workshop sessions will serve as a unique feature of the 18th Annual ISCT meeting. The full day program will be led by Dr. Dushyant Sahani who is the director of Computed Tomography at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School’s Division of Abdominal Imaging. His contribution to over 230 publications related to CT education and imaging, lends to his extensive knowledge of this topic and ISCT attendees will have the opportunity to work with him directly in a close-knit workshop setting.

Workshop topics will cover all four commercially available DECT technologies from GE Heathcare, Siemens Medical Solutions, Philips Healthcare and Toshiba Medical Systems. These conversations will be led by experts with extensive clinical and research experience in DECT. An emphasis will be made on the workflow approaches and solutions each Dual Energy CT vendor has to offer and will explore the use of DECT technology and clinical adoption in various body parts. The vendor portion of the program will be wrapped up with a Q&A session which was led last year by Dr. Patrik Rogalla.
Using a practical case-based discussion format, the workshop will then move on to cover both DECT Body and DECT Vascular cases. Our expert faculty will present these cases, giving the attendees the opportunity to unravel the details of the DECT method for tissue characterization and reduction of radiation and iodine exposure. We will explore methods, processing/display techniques, interpretation and applications with specific focuses on cases seen below:
