Associate Professor of Radiology | UMC Utrecht

Professor Leiner has worked since 2010 in the UMC Utrecht. Before that he worked as a radiologist at the Academic Hospital Maastricht, where he was trained as a radiologist from 2004-2008. He studied medicine in Leuven and Maastricht.

Following his medical education he graduated in 2002 with a thesis entitled "Optimization and Clinical Utility of Peripheral MR Angiography." Subsequently he worked for one and a half years in the United States at Harvard University / Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, USA During his training as a radiologist Professor Leiner studied the imaging of the cardiovascular system and congenital heart defects.

Besides his work as radiologist he leads research in the field of cardiovascular imaging at UMC Utrecht and he has worked as editor of the Dutch Journal of Medicine and several international journals in the field of medical imaging. He frequently teaches at international conferences to fellow radiologists and radiologists in training.
