Online learning has evolved as a game changer for many in the healthcare industry, where busy schedules and long hours make it difficult to find the time to slip away to an educational conference. That’s why a few years ago we launched ISCT Ondemand, a flexible e-learning option that allows members of the radiology community to continue their medical education on a timeline that works for their specific needs. We have dozens of accredited radiology courses available, each one focusing on a specific hot topic or organ system within CT.

This week we’re highlighting our Neuro course, which provides an exciting, spirited update of the most important, high impact developments in CT neuroimaging. There have been huge changes in neuro CT over the last year or so, and especially notable has been the rapid, widespread growth of CT and CT vascular imaging for acute stroke diagnosis and triage.

Since the DAWN & DEFUSE 3 trials proved that intra-arterial thrombectomy is a powerful, highly beneficial treatment even up to 24-hours post onset, CT/CTA has become the new, de facto imaging standard for all centers caring for stroke patients. Despite this, however, controversy persists regarding the role of CTP versus CTA-collaterals in patient selection for treatment – a controversy which is discussed in length throughout the duration of this course.

In addition to stroke and other neurological emergencies, our Neuro CT course talks emphasize protocol pearls and pitfalls within neuro CT, tips and tricks for technologists, “what’s new” and “what’s next” in acquisition/post-processing/interpretation, challenging head and neck cases, and - of course - a discussion on the role of AI in patient care pathways from before imaging is ordered to after the final report is communicated to referring providers.

This is just one of several accredited radiology CME courses available through ISCT’s education on-demand site that is designed to increase your clinical value, educate you on the latest updates within CT practice and research, and hone your technical skills.
