Wrapping up ISCT 2026

Dear ISCT members and friends,

ISCT2026 was held last week in lovely Montreal, Canada. We had three days of excellent presentations from leaders in the CT community, as well as rich conversations and time with each other and our meeting sponsors.

I want to congratulate the winners of the Willi A. Kalender Early-career Investigator Award:

First place: Ian Mark, Mayo Clinic, for his presentation, "Photon Counting Detector CT for the Identification of Pituitary Microadenomas in Cushing Disease."

2nd place: Emma Verelst, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel, for her presentation, "Single-scan endoleak characterization using dual-contrast photon-counting CT: iodine-gadolinium separation,"

and 3rd place: Aria Salyapongse, University of Wisconsin – Madison, for her presentation, "Errors in Iodine Quantification due to Non-Water Backgrounds."

I also want to thank all of the presenters for their excellent contributions and for making ISCT the premier meeting dedicated exclusively to the technology, clinical applications, workflow, workforce, and future of x-ray computed tomography.

For those who attended the meeting (in person or virtually), presentations will be available on the Whova app shortly and will then be available for 3 months.

We will resume our ISCT Presents webinars in January, leading up to our 27th Annual ISCT Symposium on October 15-17, 2027, which will be held in the exciting city of Tokyo, Japan. Save the date and watch the ISCT website for more information, coming soon.

As always, please reach out if you have topics you’d like to see covered in a webinar or blog post.

Your truly,

Cynthia H. McCollough, PhD, FAAPM, FACR, FAIMBE
President, International Society of Computed Tomography
