6 Reasons To Attend ISCT's TrifeCTa Symposium

radiology conference, ct conference, ct symposium, CME conference

This June hundreds of industry experts will gather together in San Francisco at ISCT17 to exchange ideas, build relationships, and deep dive into the hot-button challenges and innovations facing the world of CT. This will be the 19th time we've held our annual international symposium on CT. For almost two decades now we've gathered hundreds of radiologists, technologists, medical physicists, and other members of the radiology world together to hear new computed tomography discussions on technical development, radiation, contrast enhancement, multi-energy CT, etc.

Our symposium is specifically designed to benefit not just radiologists, but members from every aspect of the department. Whether you're interested in the articulation of "value" in CT, the potential impact of artificial intelligence, the clinical implementation of dual energy techniques, optimizing exposure control across vendors, understanding the impact of various scanner options or collecting pearls for interpreting clinical examinations, our 2017 CT conference has it all.

It's an incredible chance for education and growth, both personally and professionally. Every radiology conference has its benefits, here are 6 reasons to attend ours:

1. Amazing Industry Leaders

Our discussions are presented and moderated by the top radiology experts from around the world. For example, Eliot Siegel, MD, will be giving presentations on “The Current State Of Machine Learning/AI In Radiology" and "Deep Learning", as well as debating "Man With Machine vs. Machine" and "Who Controls Patient Data In The Era Of AI: Man Or Machine". Dr. Siegel's areas of interest and responsibility include digital imaging and PACS, telemedicine, the electronic medical record, and informatics.

2. Over 310 Innovative CT Talks

The reason we have our conference every single year is because there are always new advancements being made in computed tomography technology. Part of staying at the forefront of our industry is ensuring that your organization and its employees are constantly educated and kept up to date on the newest discoveries, trainings, protocols, and standards. Our CT symposium provides attendees with an invaluable opportunity to be part of the latest conversations and changes surrounding our industry, and ensures that your department will remain in the know.

3. Three Unique Interest-Based Tracks To Explore

This year, the ISCT has taken steps to make our CT symposium even more robust by offering the option for attendees to customize their program schedule based on their specific interests. This year you'll find hundreds of innovative talks split up into three unique interest-based tracks: Cutting Edge Mini-SymposiaCT Academy, and Readout With The Professor. Each track has a different style, and contains sessions and talks organized around a particular theme. Interested in case-based, research-oriented discussions on specific organ systems or diseases? Head to sessions in Track 3. Looking for a more technical hands-on approach regarding CT technology and protocols? You may enjoy talks from Track 2. By organizing the symposium this way, we hope to make it easier for our attendees to select and attend the sessions that best fit their interests.

4. Intense Debates

We introduced debates at last year's symposium, and they were by far one of our attendee's favorite parts, so we brought them back again this year! Experts in certain hot industry topics will host discussions in a debate style, one arguing for a particular topic and the other against it. These debates will allow attendees to engage with the experts and take a side on controversial issues in CT. We believe the ISCT conference is a great time to talk about things that professionals usually shy away from, and that controversial topics must be discussed.

5. Unique Presentation Structure

We understand that our attendee's time is precious. Because of that, we've worked to create a unique presentation structure that's valuable and time efficient. Our talks are powerful, packed with information, and only as long as they need to be. You won't see us stretching out a 10-minute topic into an hour-long presentation. The discussions in our Cutting Edge track are about 10 minutes long, our CT Academy talks run at about 15 minutes, and our case-based Readout With The Professor talks are half an hour long. This unique structure has been imitated now by many other symposiums, and ensures that attendees are able to maximize their time at our symposium.

6. The Location

The city of San Francisco holds a huge spot in our hearts, which is why year after year it's our go-to destination for our annual symposium. Not only is San Francisco a huge city for healthcare, it's also (in our totally unbiased opinion) one of the coolest cities in the US! There's more than enough sightseeing, shopping, and good eats to be had. Whether it's taking in the sight of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge or strolling down Fisherman’s Wharf, there's something for everyone to enjoy in San Francisco!

We could talk for days about why ISCT17 is the best radiology conference out there, but we've found that the best way to discover this is by experiencing it yourself firsthand. Every year attendees reach out post-conference to tell us how inspired they were by this event. If you are in the field of computed technology, there is nothing quite like ISCT meeting.
