Call For Abstract Poster Presentations On Computed Tomography

call for abstracts; radiology abstracts, CT research

The time has come, The International Society for Computed Tomography (ISCT) is now accepting abstracts for poster presentations to be presented at out 19th Annual Symposium on CT. The goal of this exercise is to encourage research and the exchange of new ideas and approaches in radiology, specifically computed tomography.

The ISCT’s Program Committee will accept abstracts and scientific/educational posters falling under one of the following categories:

  • Abdomen and pelvic
  • Cardiac
  • Contrast Material
  • Image Processing
  • Informatics
  • Interventional
  • Neuro
  • Oncology
  • Pediatric
  • Practice Management
  • Radiation Management and Exposure
  • Technical Developments
  • Thoracic
  • Vascular
  • Workflow

Trainees are encouraged to submit their abstracts and posters and a $250 scholarship will be awarded to all presenting authors. All of the submissions will be scored and judged by a panel selected by ISCT’s faculty before the conference.  These radiology experts will judge each submission based on its scientific merit, relevance to hot topics in radiology, the demonstration of evidence-based approaches to care that incorporate innovative or emerging techniques.  Judges will also consider the overall completeness of the submission when determining which abstracts to accept.

Only a limited number of posters will actually be chosen for oral presentations in the main lecture hall at the CT symposium, but all presenters will receive a designated time to discuss their posters with members of our panel. Due to this, it is imperative that all authors of posters be in attendance of the Computed Tomography CME meeting.

As presenting authors, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have agreed to be included and have an understanding of the abstract. “Presenting authors” in-training (fellows, residents, and medical students) must include an attending radiologist on their abstract, but you can submit an abstract that has been previously presented. The ISCT will give preference to original work that has not been presented elsewhere, however.  All original abstracts accepted are going to shared publicly in ISCT’s Education On-Demand  section of the website.
