4 Exciting Things That Happened In CT This Week
It’s Friday, which means another week came and another week’s gone. If you’re a working adult, most weeks generally feel the same. There are some weeks, though, that are just a little bit special, that stand out more than the others for some particular reason. This week was one of those weeks for everyone in CT.
If you spent just 20 minutes on Twitter this week, you’ll know that some seriously cool stuff is happening in our industry. The radiology world feels a little like fire and ice most of the time; we can go months or even years with no significant innovations, or we can have a short period of time where exciting new changes are popping up like wildfires. We’ll give you one good guess which one of those this past week falls under.
That being said, when there’s so much new stuff happening at once it can be difficult to even stay in the loop. That’s why we’re here to help keep you informed! Here are four big discoveries in the computed tomography world that you’ll want to be aware of:
Looking Back: Our 6 Favorite Things From ISCT16
It’s been two weeks since we wrapped up ISCT16, and we’ve finally had some time to sit back and reflect about what made this year’s conference stand out so much more than the rest. We always walk away from these conferences feeling amazed and excited about what’s happening in our industry, and this year was no exception, but if you asked us to name our number one favorite part about ISCT16 we wouldn’t be able to give you an answer.
There was so much we loved about this year’s conference. We don’t have time to list it all, but we can share six of our favorite things from ISCT16 with you! Chances are some of them are the things that you enjoyed most as well.
Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Marilyn J. Siegel
ISCT16 was chock full of fabulous sessions and incredible speakers, but one of the faculty members who particularly blew us away this year was Dr. Marilyn Siegal. Marilyn, who currently serves as the Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, is the prime example of what each and every one of us in the industry should strive to embody.
She’s a recognized leader in pediatric radiology with a special interest in the use of cross-sectional imaging techniques for the evaluation of pediatric diseases, and Dr. Siegal has devoted her life to our industry. She’s an incredible doctor, a respected teacher, a well-loved scholar, and a pioneer of research.
The Official ISCT16 Checklist
We’re just one weekend away from ISCT16, which means it’s time to get serious. There’s always a lot going on pre-conference. You’re scrambling to pack, trying to tie up all your loose ends at work, double-checking your flights and freaking out about that one thing you know you forgot. We understand that there’s a lot to remember, and chances are there’s some detail about the trip that you’ve already forgotten.
Don’t get caught unprepared this year. We’ve created a last-minute checklist for ISCT16 to help attendees make sure that they’re crossing everything off the list and will have everything in order for this year’s conference! Before you head to San Francisco, make sure you’ve done all of the following things.
What To Bring To ISCT16
This year’s symposium is almost upon us, and as ISCT16 draws closers it’s time to start preparing for the conference! There’s a lot that you’ll probably pack if you’re attending this year. After all, at this point we all have the “generic conference packing list” pretty much memorized: 3-4 days of conference attire, a few fancy outfits for happy hours and dinners, a pair of pajamas, and maybe some normal people outfits on the off chance that you might have spare time to do something that’s not conference-related.
At ISCT16, we’re not as worried about whether you threw in three pairs of heels or four. We trust your judgment, and we’ll leave the clothes packing to you. There are a few other things we want you to add to your packing list this year that aren’t clothes-related, though! If you’re attending ISCT16 and want to get the full experience, you’ll want to make sure to bring these with you.
Faculty Spotlight: Radiology Extraordinaire Bhavik Patel, MD, MBA
With less than three weeks left until we kick off ISCT16, it’s all finally starting to feel real! We couldn’t be more excited about everything that’s in store for this year’s symposium, from the exciting new topics to the jaw-dropping speaker lineup and the incredible networking opportunities. As the symposium gets closer, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce another one of this year’s top speakers: Dr. Bhavik Patel.
30-for-30: Computed Tomography Education Sessions
We are officially 30 days out from our 18th Annual Computed Tomography Symposium in San Francisco and it’s safe to say we are getting a little excited. All the pieces are falling into place and our registration is higher than it’s ever been. We are building an amazing program for you and are looking forward to this CT meeting to be the most innovative gathering of radiology minds we have ever hosted.
In celebration of our 30-day countdown, we thought we’d highlight 30 of the talks we are most looking forward to:
9 Signs Your Radiology Team Should Attend ISCT’s Computed Tomography Meeting
As radiologists you’re trained to look for problems and identify even the smallest most unique issues. You’re trained to be effective, moving swiftly from case to case in order to help more patients. As radiologists though, you’re also expected to be aware of evolutions in the industry and you have a duty to share your unique insights with other radiology professionals. It can be easy to get caught up in the monotony of the day-to-day routine, putting continued education and collaboration opportunities to the back-burner for the sake of productivity.
